DATABASE OF ORGANIZED & ACCESSIBLE
NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL NORMATIVE DATA
For Spanish-speaking populations
HOW IT WORKS
The NeuroShare database is not an exhaustive list of neuropsychological tests for Spanish-speakers but a beginning step to a collaborative approach to neuropsychology with this diverse population.
REVIEW
The NeuroShare Database is organized within this website through the "Country" tab, which separates normative data by country of origin of the sample population. To access this normative data, just hover over the "Country" tab and click on the country of interest.
The entire database is also available through a downloadable/searchable PDF. To access, click here.
The database contains information pertaining to scholarly articles with normative data. Information gathered includes:
-
Country of origin
-
Neuropsychological Measures
-
Age & years of education of sample population
-
Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria
The database includes a citation for the published articles as well as a direct link to the article via a hyperlink feature
SUBMIT
In order to improve NeuroShare and the accuracy of assessment within the Spanish-speaking population, NeuroShare supports contributions from fellow neuropsychologists or trainees. Contributions should meet the following criteria:
-
Adult Normative Samples
-
Published in a peer reviewed article
-
Contributions should include citation or direct link to article
SHARE
If you find NeuroShare helpful, please share with fellow neuropsychologists or trainees. NeuroShare aims to increase the dissemination of appropriate normative data through the support of its user.
-
With the collaboration of neuropsychologists, this project has the potential to become an expansive collection of normative data, which will serve to benefit providers, researchers and patients.
-
Providers will have better access to resources from which to provide a better comparison for their patients, allowing for better diagnostic accuracy and facilitating culturally competent care.
-
In order to continue expanding this collaborative database, access to NeuroShare will remain free and accessible to all.
ABOUT US
OUR STORY
Jessenia Arias, M.A., founding developer of NeuroShare, began this project during her clinical training on the forensic inpatient units at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center, a Massachusetts Department of Mental Health facility in Boston, MA. The idea arose out of a clinical need to facilitate and improve neuropsychological assessments provided to the diverse populations served at the center. She began to collect articles with normative data for Spanish-speaking populations, with the goal that the project could ultimately provide increased and organized representation to individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
NeuroShare was made possible in part by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and Tufts Medical Center. Their environment promoting culturally competent care and service fostered the development of this project. Special thanks is due to the clinical supervisors, administration, and hospital leadership at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center.
OUR VISION
Given the number of bilingual and bicultural providers is limited, providers are left unable to refer diverse population and are increasingly required to assess this population, without prior experience or specialized knowledge. This project aims to support the experienced cross-cultural clinician as well as the novel provider by creating an additional resource to improve the diagnostic clarity in the assessment of the diverse and continuously growing populations of the United States.
Currently, NeuroShare provides published normative data for use with Spanish-speaking adult populations. However, it is our goal to continue developing this tool to include normative data and resources for use with various diverse populations across the lifespan.
TECHNOLOGY
The goal of NeuroShare is to facilitate a collaborative approach to the collection and dissemination of available normative data for diverse populations via our "submission" platform. Through the intersection of technology and neuropsychology, it is our hope that this database will be an ever growing and expanding compilation of current and future published data sets, as they become available to the community.
